Questions for the Panel

What’s the biggest easy fix that you see getting submitted but have to return for redline edits.

What are three topics/items which the survey community is doing right, and what three topics/items could we being doing better?

What do you feel your responsibility is to protect the community from bad or subpar surveyors?

What are the most common errors found in record map submittals that get redlined?

Are you hiring?

How is your county addressing the hyperbolic rise in AI generally and has it had any role within your department?

What would be your top 3 messages/concerns that you wish to convey to the private practice survey community to improve upon as it relates to working with the county processes?

County surveyor is a type of leadership role in the survey community as it relates to guidance of the practice from a regulatory standpoint; What leadership principles have you exhibited or learned in your role that you didn't experience in private practice that could be modeled as a best practice for the private sector?

What about public service role is different, for better or worse, than what you experienced in private practice?

What characteristics of the person or best practices do you notice within your county's private practice surveyors, whether small or large company, that you attribute to better than average work product and better than average interactions with the county process and requirements?

What is one item submitting surveyors in your county can improve upon?

What is something that you are seeing that you would like to correct, or make people aware of

Are there any changes you wish to see in the department or role of county surveyor as it relates to the interfacing with the private sector? Or changes in the private sector interfacing with government?
